O SENTIDO DA MORTE NAS EXPERIÊNCIAS DOS SUJEITOS UMBANDISTAS E SEUS EFEITOS NA VIVÊNCIA DO PROCESSO DE LUTO
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate how Umbanda practitioners attribute meanings to life and death, how they deal with the process of terminality, in addition to analyzing the psychological implications of Umbanda religious discourse in the different stages of mourning. This theme is scarce in the scientific community, aiming at the need to develop studies to instigate the production of knowledge, which aim to provide resources and instruments for psychology to practice a more welcoming approach, and to develop a practice with views that break the stigmata of prejudice and religious racism. From a methodological point of view, a mapping of Umbanda Temple in the city of Joinville, was carried out, with the objective of analyzing the narratives that subjects linked to this religious experience produce, about the notion of death and its relationship with the grieving process. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with participants who attend Umbanda Temple and who have experienced the grieving process of a loved one. From the data collection, the process of organization and analysis of information was carried out through the Dialogical Analysis of Bakhtin's Discourse, intertwining with the theorization from the perspective of Historical-Cultural Psychology of Vygotsky, which recognizes the subject as being historical, social and cultural.
