CARACTERÍSTICAS DO DESENVOLVIMENTO DE CRIANÇAS DE 0 A 6 ANOS EM UM TERRITÓRIO EM PROCESSO DE REGULARIZAÇÃO FUNDIÁRIA NA BAÍA DA BABITONGA/SC

Abstract

The human development is a process of changes that evolves throughout life. Since conception, several factors such as growth conditions, cognitive and language stimulation, affective relationships and sensory stimulation impact the physical, cognitive and psychosocial domains of development. During early childhood, the development of individual characteristics happens quickly and is directly related to the context in which the child is inserted. At this stage of life, several factors can lead to consequences, such as growth problems, impaired brain function, limited ability to adapt motor behavior and difficulties in interpersonal relationships. Given these propositions, the present research was developed with the objective of analyzing the development of children from 0 to 6 years of age, residing in a territory in the process of land regularization, considering their living conditions. The research is exploratory, descriptive, with a cross-sectional and quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results. Data collection was carried out as part of a university extension project at Faculdade Guilherme Guimbala, developed during the second semester of 2022, in a community in Baía da Babitonga in Joinville/SC, which was in the process of land regularization. Data collection included the analysis of the development of 20 children through the Child Development Surveillance Instrument of the Ministry of Health of Brazil, included in the 2020 Child Health Handbook, in addition to identifying the general health condition of each child and of the socioeconomic status of their families through the application of a specific questionnaire to mothers. The data obtained showed that more than half of the children evaluated in the period presented an index of probable delay in child development, as well as a condition of socioeconomic vulnerability. In consideration of the data obtained in the community, it is important to identify the causes of the probable delay observed, to advise the development of interventions that reduce this occurrence, in addition to stimulating the implementation of public policies that contribute positively to local development and to improve the living conditions for children in the territory.
