Abstract

In the Brazilian scenario, where the pandemic caused by the Sars-CoV-2 virus has brought many families to tears due to the death of their loved ones, the second wave of the virus proved to be more lethal than the first. This fact drew the attention of the world to Brazil due to the number of deaths. The President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, at the height of the pandemic, contested the effectiveness and usefulness of science, in addition to fueling obscurantism. The aim of this study is to show how religious influences guided politics in the context of Covid-19. The research was developed based on observation, through religious actors produced through YouTube, Social Networks and bibliographical readings.
