Abstract: The objective of this article is to present one of the influences of the phenomenon of rationality in Weber, identified in the economic analysis, that, in turn, converges to the spectrum of his theory of social action. The purpose is to problematize what could be an autonomization of the economic calculation that seeks to support its theoretical bases in weberian sociology. In this sense, we will approach the idea of rationality in Weber's sociology as na inspiration for economic analysis, and then enter succinctly into Weber’s theory of social action as instructive of rational actions coordinated to an end and the way out to instruct economic analysis. We will try to show that comprehensive sociology in the form thought by Weber is not unrelated to interpretive and philosophical contours ; therefore, its use for economic calculations and political decisions, often endorsed in the skepticism of philosophy and in the belief in pragmatic professionalism, can be inadequate or, at least, requires a mor in-depth examination.
