The present study focuses on the Brazilian Portuguese version of Dominique Maingueneau's work, Gèneses du discours, highlighting its relevance to the epistemological renewal of French discourse analysis. The paper describes the methodological shift that favors a pragmatic and enunciative orientation in post-1960 discourse studies. Central axes of Maingueneau's proposal are discussed, particularly the primacy of interdiscourse, the notion of discursive competence, and the formulation of his analytical apparatus, termed global semantics. These concepts articulate different textual planes under systemic coercions and redefine polemics as a form of regulated inter-incomprehension. The study also examines the relationship between utterances and institutions through intersemiotic discursive practices, demonstrating the current relevance of this theoretical framework for investigating contemporary discursive phenomena.
