WOMEN AND POLITICAL REPRESENTATION
A STUDY ON THE SOCIAL PROFILE AND LEGISLATIVE PRODUCTION OF RE-ELECTED FEDERAL DEPUTIES IN 2022

This study addresses issues related to the political underrepresentation of women in the
Chamber of Deputies, analyzed according to the party ideology of the deputies and their political and
social trajectories. Therefore, it aims to: a) analyze the political and social trajectories of these
women holding federal deputy positions; and b) analyze the bills proposed by them, seeking to identify their themes and content, aiming to pinpoint a distance or approximation with the progressive
agendas defended by women. To achieve this, bibliographic research was conducted on the Chamber
of Deputies website and in the Brazilian Historical Biographical Dictionary (DHBB) of the Center
for Research and Documentation of Contemporary Brazilian History (CPDOC) at Fundação Getúlio
Vargas (FGV). This research was used to present the biographical profiles of federal deputies elected
in the 56th legislature (2019) who were re-elected in the 57th legislature (2023), with the intention
of defining their profile, political trajectory, proposed bills, and social advantages that characterize
them, in addition to graphical visualizations and tables that will systematize and facilitate a better
understanding of the information. In this sense, based on collected data and statistics, it is argued
that the re-elected female caucus in the Chamber of Deputies, within the studied period, is composed
of women who are predominantly right-wing, white, married, highly educated, and politically active,
and who are largely concerned with human rights, education,
